Lune
Valley Lauren Our
foundation broodmare is
the incomparable Lune Valley Lauren, a study
of classic Fell Pony beauty. She is a good, traditional mare who was
hand-picked
as an excellent match for our own Lunesdale Mercury by her owner in
England before export. Laura, as we call her, is one of only
a
handful of bay
fell ponies in North America and has masses of hair to boast of as
well. She is currently in foal to our own Lunesdale Mercury
and
we look forward to
spring of '08 for its birth!
Laura has been green broke to ride and
she is an
absolute joy to take out on quiet rides through the neighborhood. Of
course, she is hugely in foal at the moment, but she really enjoys
hacking out and steps along with a cheerful curiousity. We have yet to
pass a person (especially children!) who has been able to resist
stopping to pet and admire her! She is the quintessential pony: quiet,
round, fluffy, and with so much mane that one wonders how she sees at
all! We will also
will be introducing this brilliant mare to carriage driving in due
time.
